Church, Cathedral Photography - Thread

Yes, very difficult to get a shot because the light was so bad in there. It was taken with a Canon 50mm f/1.4 lens as well. Next time I go I might pursuade the Vicar to let me use a tripod, he owes me a favour since I fixed his Computer a few years back :)

I always use tripods in churches and cathedrals...

Heres mine.

Taken with a Canon IXUS 95 on full automatic.

I think you will agree that the colours, depth and detail are extreme.

Christ, did you hold them up at gunpoint? That's a bargain! :D

Bought it over on the TP forum a while back. I didn't realise it was a good price at the time. I'm sure I've seen them around since for that price. I wish I could afford the £1300 a 70-200L mkII looks to be going for at the moment!

I love this thread, so when I get some time I will up load some of my Cathedral photos, well done guys.

For the stain glass window shots, I take the exposure compensation was slightly up as the meter will give a different reading fro the exposure ! ?

They may have been taken on consecutive years, first when I did have a Fuji, then later when i got the IXUS, but always been stoned as thats all I do. I find spending 50euros to bang a hoe costs to much money.

You deffo were stoned dude cos they were both taken on the same day 3 minutes apart lmao :D

Not that it matters of course. :)

Thankyou everyone for showing an interest in the thread and showing off your photo's, would like to see more though!.

Some really nice shots here. Has anyone got any shots of St. Giles Church in Cheadle (the one in Staffordshire not the one in Manchester), the whole interior is by Pugin, it is apparently spectacular.

How would you have improved this shot?, any tips for re-processing?

I can go back but I very much want to improve my church photography!
