Church, Cathedral Photography - Thread

The big box in the foreground is very distracting. I think I would have either made it the focus or not have it in there at all.

Now for something completely different! Shot in a horrible december day, in light drizzle...

Crown Graphic from 1947, 4x5 inches negative scanned at 2400 dpi. Thats over 100 megapixels ;-)

An absolute beast :)

You wouldn't happen to know the photography/tripod rules in Worcester cathedral would you? I have just got my first DSLR and want to snap a few pics inside :)

Really sorry about the late reply, totally forgot about the thread.

I had to pay for a photography permit, I think it was £2 but not to sure now.

Again really sorry about the late reply

Bought it over on the TP forum a while back. I didn't realise it was a good price at the time. I'm sure I've seen them around since for that price. I wish I could afford the £1300 a 70-200L mkII looks to be going for at the moment!

Hey Rojin ordered this today (Tamron 17-50mm F2.8 XR Di II LD Asp Canon Mount Lens) for my Digital Rebel XTI £257 from the bay not Hong Kong! with 1 year warranty from the supplier :D

Hope it's a step up from my 18-55mm efs Is

Yes it's a small step up, if you have a tripod, the 18-55 3.5-5.6 should be no problem at all.
I used to have that lens as well.

The 18-55 IS sucks!, It's soft beyond F8 and every image needs a lot of sharpening. I've never liked the 18-55 personally and even the 100-300mm macro D destroys it in quality!

No wonder it's cheap and feels like plastic

Ok Trick you can officialy sod off, They are too good and i'm now going to sulk in the corner of my room :( :(

What settings were these shots?
Lens?
Where is it :p

Most of them are York Minster, 17-40 I guess. The ghostly looking one is near Fontainebleau in France, 24-70 on a tripod with a 30 second or so exposure. Top one is Notre Dame with a 70-200.
