Does anybody know what time City Link do deliveries till? I've been waiting all day for a monitor and it's 5.30pm now and it still hasn't arrived :(
A City Link van drove by about 9am today but it didn't stop.
The tracking site says 'Goods loaded onto a van'. That was 8.30 this morning. The nearest City Link depot to me is about 8 miles away.

I'd not get your hopes up, theres still a chance it'll come now though.
Ive found they either come early, or really late. Lol.

5:30
also their offices close at 5:30 so you can't phone up and ask them where the HELL they are.

But you can go down to the depot, my local one is open until 7.

I was going to go down once and try and pick something up that I'd missed, but the driver came back at 6pm and redelivered :)

My local depot is open until 9pm, i normally always have to go and collect my stuff as they always deliver in the morning when i'm at work.

must just be plymouth branch then, as I've only had 25% of my dilliverys arrive on the right day or eirlyer.
and whenever I phone before 5:30 I ALWAYS get "its on the van. we can't garentee time of dillivery."

Generally I think they go to the furthest delivery point on their route from the deopt and work back towards home, so if your van is delivering to 6ish it still may arrive :).

You cannot interfere with the forces of delivery....

When will it arrive?

Maybe sometime in the morning
Maybe sometime in the afternoooon
Or maybe not at all...

"It will be there in about 10 minutes"

That's what I've just been told by a City Link employee. I decided to give them a call as the tracking site now says "Delivery point closed (Carded)".
They said it's a mix up and will be there in 10 minutes.

We shall see if it arrives...I'm not confident it will tho.

This is the second time in a row I've had bad experience with City Link. Shame as I used to like them.

It could be:

A:Not manifested, and the driver doesnt know its on his truck (you can track, but it might not be on his paper work)

B:He might not of been able to locate the parcel on his van, he might of looked for it at the drop before, couldnt find it, and reported it missing (which is unlikely as get this city link have no contact with their drivers when they are out on the road according to their offices)

C:He's a lazy mofo.

Most courier varies depending where you are, time and quality of service. At uni they usually come before midday, back home they have turn up fromo 8:00 am, lunch time to 6:00pm.

The odd one was when they didn't deliver, didn't leave a card, and when i call up, the citylink peep told me the driver came but ran out of cards so didn't leave one !

wait untill you've had over 200 dilliverys from them, and only 30 or so have been dillivered correctly (undamaged, no boot marks etc, on time) then your realy start to hate em, and stop using companys who use em.

Had the same experience when I was eagerly awaiting my 6600GT. The parcel seemed to be going in and out of the depot for a number of days and I too got in contact when the website read "card was left"!! They also told me "it will be there in about 10 minutes" and so it arrived a few hours later at around 7-8pm iirc.

I wasn't too impressed with how it had been handled either as the outer packaging was torn and scratched to pieces. I was thankfully glad that the hardware actually worked.

The best delivery in my experience have been actually Royal Mail Special Delivery and UPS (thou only buying from the States used this). Both can guarantee next day before 12 delivery, and especially UPS who have great tracking details online. DHL were ok too but only have used them twice.

My orders from them came at 11:30 this morning. But i;ve had an order come at 5:45 from them before though.

City Link have been great as far as i am concerned. I have had scores of deliveries from them over the years and maybe once or twice they have not delivered on time. Can't fault them at the mo. Also, when i have rung up about a delivery, the lady on the reception has phoned the driver there and then for me! They have even come back to me when i missed the original delivery because i was out!!

The City Link driver i have round here is great... got on first name terms with him while I was unemployed:)

My deliveries usually come at 11am ish, which is a pain now I'm working again...
