Claiming for eye tests

I've heard that, if you spend a significant amount of your working time staring at a computer screen, you are entitled to claim for routine eye tests.

Is this the case and if so can someone point me at any pertinent legislation or FAQs on this?

Where I work they will refund you upto £45 of anything you spend at the opticians, providing you give them a note from the optician saying you need glasses for the purpose of using a VDU.

Not a lot when you consider the cost of glasses, but better than a poke in the eye I suppose.
