ClamWin anti-virus opinions?

I'm looking into the free anti-virus options for Windows and found that there was a Windows version of ClamAV, an open source anti-virus solution for Linux. It doesn't do on-access scanning unfortunately but it seems a lot better than others I've used. The lack of on-access scanning doesn't really bother me at the moment as I always scan file downloads anyway before launching (okay I'm a bit paranoid).

Does anyone else use this on any of their systems or opinions on it?

Well I'm thinking of switching the other way around, from AVG Pro to ClamWin as I don't want to pay for anti-virus. I've installed it on my desktop at home to see what it's like so I should see if I get any viruses soon.

The best solution would be to have a Linux desktop with anti-virus that could scan every desktop on my network remotely. Not sure if anything is capable of that though.
