I drove an 02 plate Clio 1.5 DCI 100 Dynamique today and loved it............it's got so much grunt low down it's great.

Whats the reliability like on these? the insurance group is 5 which is good for my insurance.

Can I pick one up for <£3.5k and what does everybody think of them? Much difference between the DCI 80 and 100?

Are you sure it was a 100?

AFAIK They did 65 and 80 bhp on 02 plates

Pretty sure they 100 came in after 03

Yes your correct. The 100BHP came out after 03.

The 100 BHP version will do 60 in 10.3 seconds, 65 mpg and IG5.

The 80 BHP version will do 60 in 11.8 seconds (similar to the 1.4 standard petrol). 67 MPG and IG4.

I'd go with the 100BHP and get it remapped :D

The dynamic+ on the early models is IG10 so watch out.

I really enjoyed the 2005 DCi I had as a hire car :)

Gearbox is a bit vague and the engine is from a van but its quite a lot better than most of the others in the class I have driven.

We got a 53 plate 1.5 TD clio in work.. Reliablity? Well its the pool car, it gets hammered every day, ive jumped it, handbraked it, wheelspun it, done burnouts and just abused it to the point of hell and it still goes like a train! :p I was also supprised at the handling! Ive shown up a few boy racers and even overtook a zetec s going around a roundabout lol! He was actually that annoyed he followed me back to work! LOL :) Good cars! :D

My 2nd car (53 Plate 1.2 Dynamique) is worth 4.5 - 5k, since a oil burner (expecially the most powerfull they did) always sells for a premium i don't think you will get one for 3.5k, unless is done loads of miles.

Well I went to see a dci dynamique 100 today on a forecourt.

I test drove it and it's a nice drive, lots of torque low down and it's quite nippy.

Parked next to it was a Saxo VTR...........I got the keys to that too. I drove it and the salesman told me to give it some and I was pretty damn shocked at the response I got :D

It was a Y reg VTR with 21k miles, 1 owner, FSH but it was up for £4999 :(

I didn't find the pedals being close together a problem and the ride was superb. The handling was excellent, I liked the driving position and I really don't give a toss if people call me a chav driving one...........

I am now dead set on a VTR. If I can pick a VTR up, with the nice white dials and black interior for <£3k that leaves me a bit left for insurance.

Whats the MPG on these things again :p

lol. They are worth £3100 privately. Am sure you can get the exact same for £3500.

In terms MPG, its obviously going to depend where you drive and how you drive. Motorway, expect around 40-45. In town and around. 30-35.

I've been looking at ones with about 60k miles on the clock..........is it better to pay the extra couple hundred quid and get a low mileage one?

Could someone also clear up if the black cloth was introduced in 01 or 00.

All the 00 VTR's I am looking don't have the black interior, but have been facelifted. :(
