Would you?

There was a thread on here a while back, where people baisically said "Its a 25k Clio! No way!" - but now they're cheaper, considered a "Junior Supercar" by EVO, and would be in JC's perfect 10 garage...seem a better buy.

And anyone who says "but the 182 is just as quick" is missing the point entirely and should have their posting rights revoked :p

Alternatively, £15k gets you a nice 111S Elise?

i think id go with the elise every time..... hmmm or maybe not..lol

It's a tough one because if you've got 15k to spend and you're after performance but obviously not bothered about practicality, there's so much to choose from.

I don't think you can lose going down either route.

its a difficult one, on the one hand you are getting something exclusive with the clio but the elise will no doubt be a better drivers car, niether of them are the most practical of cars. Given the choice of those two id have the clio. I think id buy a golf r32 if i Could though

I've never seen a Clio V6 on the road, but they are one of the best looking cars around. Very aggressive for a camp French small car.

the owner of my local clio garage has one...

seen it a few times now, absolutly stunning. his is a ph1

Didnt Jeremy Clarkson also say the handling was terrible?

IIRC the very first ones had terrible handling, later ones were better, I seem to remember they have a massive turning circle though.

I saw one once in Sunderland and it looked fantastic!

Don't they have the same problem as an Astra VXR in having too much power going through the front wheels tho?

BeatMaster :D

They do look nice, but I think you will get frustrated with it as its loud, turning circle is suppose to be awful, and they are not that quick for something thats 255BHP. They are suppose to be a lot of fun, but in my opinion, 16K can go on a better car, something like a 350z?

Plus side though, they look the nuts, if its a Mk2 V6 i say go for it, if its a Mk1, i wouldnt

Beatmaster... nah there rear wheel drive

Ah yes thats right, the turning circle was half as good as a Land Rover.

Well, JC loves them, see here :D

And yes, they have the turning circle of a ship, see the vid. I'm just after something thats RWD and driver focused.

The 350Z is a very good shout, but bottom end appears to be £17k, most around the 20k mark so a little more than I'd like to spend. Same applies to the R32, bottom end is £17k...plus they're really FWD bias with the Haldex, rear wheels on kick in when the front looses traction.

The Mk2 is an awesome car, if I remember... the stig in top gear kept going around the track to see if he could get a better time because of how much potential the car has, they just glue to the road.

The Mk2 is a whole different car, very fun car!

Much prefere to have a Mk2 CLio V6 over R32, elise etc.

However, it depends if its practical for you... it has 2 seats rather than the R32 that has 5 seats.

But then your really comparing a Clio V6 to a Elise. The're 2 complete different cars

Mk2 Clio V6 4tw :)

They stand out by a mile IMO. The mk2 is absolutely awesome. So what if they aren't the most powerful cars in the world - they are quirky and rather rare. I always spot one when I see one in London. I would definitely own a mk2. :)

There is a silver and a burgundy one down here

they look the nuts but if you want performance 15k could buy you lots of better cars
