Closest you've been to the equator?

Singapore. I'd guess this will be the default answer for loads of people seeing as it is a usual stop-over point en route to australia.

Kruger Park, South Africa is the closest I've been (a long way away). Next closest probably Libya when we changed planes at Tripoli.

Can't stand the place these days tbh. It's like a tropical version of Benidorm.

I regret even mentioning it in the OP now. :(

I've heard that about various parts of Southern Thailand, Northern Thailand however isn't like that at all, Chiang Rai, Chiang Saen and Mae Sai ...where I have also been. Bangkok wasn't so nice though ...well it's a big city, I don't like cities much as it goes.

Well yeah, there are still parts I like. Koh Sammet, for example, is nice. It's an island near Rayong. A popular holiday destination for middle-class Thais.

I went to London once, but didn't stay. Does that count? Apart from that the furthest towards the equator I got was a few trips to Shropshire. Northern holidays > *. :p

Been to Kenya once can't get much closer than that.

Also been to Kampala in Uganda thats pretty close also.
