I would have guessed Jansport as you still sometimes see tours of schoolkids from various countries wearing them.

A few other brands that sprang to mind and I haven't seen mentioned are Rockport, Timberland, Firetrap and Gio Goi. I'm not sure if they're quite the slightly dodgy style that you're looking for but I guess it's a matter of opinion.

I had some electric blue Lois cords with a Lemon Le Shark top and some blue and green deck shoes!

I thought it was so cool at the time........ /palm

LOL I had exactly the same rig, must have being a popular choice :D

Also - joe Bloggs jeans with pictures on the legs of Fred Flintstone or something, or am I imagining this?

Ultimate early 90's accessory:

Black Los Angeles Kings baseball cap, with team name in silver. Make sure you bend the peak to look as curved as possible.
 
I remember Eclipse jeans as a teen, they had little characters smoking spliffs on the pockets, or smiley faces etc.

British knight trainers, Pony trainers, kappa trackies, joe bloggs, naf naf, benetton.. most of whats been mentioned really. good times :)
