Clubbing what do you think of it?

Used to go all the time at Uni with my mates. Went a lot less after I stopped being single and now I've finished uni I hardly go at all, because really it's pretty dull when you are not after some girls or something. You cant really socialise properly, etc etc.

It is the mating dance for humans.

Well, its not like you can really talk with that noise. Physical attraction comes first, and dressed up all smart like a flamingo showing off its feathers, then strutting around on the dance floor like a bird in the jungle, now and again you see blokes fight it out like some wild goats to get a female.

David attenbough should do a documentary on it, seriously, i find it funny about the whole clubbing scene. I used to like it, and enjoyed it, but now older, looking back it seems how did we get here? When did humans, with all our intelligence get so primative?

With every year past about 25 clubs (and there have been about 10 now) have been less appealing. I love going out but would rather not end up in a club. I'm a bit of a ponce and love a good cocktail.

Never saw the point of it or how it could be entertaining, give me a night in with friends or a quiet pub any day. I actually feel less out of place as a non drinker at a pub than a club.

thats the problem, people go to pull girls. don't get me wrong it isn't the worst place but I would rather it be about the music and having fun. :(

You know the types. muscle bound topman clad idiots to generalise slightly and their tarted up female counterparts.

Luckily I avoid most of this by going to smaller places with "locals" or attending the same events put on by a group of DJs at differnt places. seems odd for a club but they do exist. A lot of student nights are put on by people renting a club and hiring a few DJS or even DJing themselves. stick to these for better music/people.

There is clubbing, then theres going to posh clubs in town with flashing lights and expensive drinks.

If I want cheap drink, sticky floors and the latest Wigan Pier tunes in the back ground with green strobes and with 16/18 year old girls being sick everywhere I go Bolton.

If I want to 'do posh' I go Manchester town centre (if thats posh?) and sip expensive drinks in a bar which is playing the very latest r'n'b while everyone dances on the spot while trying to talk and look posh.

I alternate.

:p

I think it's quite depressing actually. Never really understood the UK obsession with clubbing. One of those things everyone does because everyone else does it I suppose.

I much prefer the American model of house parties, going to the lake, etc. I love going months on end without ever hearing dance or techno music. They don't seem to have any clubs outside of big cities and alcohol is sort of seedy here, you carry it out in a brown paper bag like a porno mag or something. I never see anyone drunk in public the way you see in every UK town each weekend.

Your asking this on a computer forum ? :D

I go sometimes, I think me and my house mates have only been out about 3 times this term. The last time ended badly though. Its alright, being student you get cheap drinks but I much prefer house parties. You can talk to people without having to shout at them and you have somewhere to crash too.

It's alright but would probably get boring and repetitive after a while, costs a lot and have to shout down everyone's ears. Not to mention the usual rubbish music the "DJ's" play. I would rather be in a quieter atmosphere. Sad I know.:p

depends what type of clubbing.

im more enjoying the 8/9 hour dnb/rave type stuff at the moment since going to creamfields, rather than the few hours at the local club in town...

much better atmosphere where everyones dancing non stop to a type of music for hours and hours, sweating their faces off and no one gives a flying f. Rather than, get "dressed up", drink expensive or cheap(student night) drinks everyone is dancing like ***** and the music is pure cheese.

I adore clubber gear on girls too, but i just go for the music :)

I wouldnt say i go "clubbing"

There is a rock club in Sheffield which is the only place i will go if we want to stay out, generally just chill with mates, cheap drinks and good music...never seen a single bit of trouble even with mosh pits everywhere and 50p vodkas :p
