Clubbing what do you think of it?

good when steaming and with a load of mates. But on the whole, no I don't enjoy it. Don't like the music, don't like the attitude of bouncers, don't like not being able to hear people, even outside at most places is too loud for most conversation.

Pubs on student nights are where its at.

I think it's quite depressing actually. Never really understood the UK obsession with clubbing. One of those things everyone does because everyone else does it I suppose.

I much prefer the American model of house parties, going to the lake, etc. I love going months on end without ever hearing dance or techno music. They don't seem to have any clubs outside of big cities and alcohol is sort of seedy here, you carry it out in a brown paper bag like a porno mag or something. I never see anyone drunk in public the way you see in every UK town each weekend.

Think you have just been watching too much TV perhaps. I have never been to America tbh so I don't know what i am talking about really but from my knowledge of music and culture a lot of it started in the US. (Detroit Techno, Chicago House, Disco in the 70s with Studio54 in NYC etc) so I am pretty sure they are into their clubbing. Perhaps more in the big cities.

Where as here we are much more the same all over the country and everything is closer so even small villages have clubs quite often.

Maybe it is like you say in the Mid West or wherever your average family lives but I dunno really. Anyway I agree looking at the people on Sat night in town you kind of feel sorry for a lot of them, it is ok occasinally but every weekend constantly, get a hobby ffs. housepartys are generally better and with things costing so much also usually a lot cheaper.

Used to go quite a lot when I was between the ages of seventeen and twenty one, then all of sudden I stopped. Haven't been since, twas rather a long time ago. :D Had some good nights out, a few pants ones too.

Just ain't the same for me when i hit 30+. We used to do the town club a couple of nights a week, wednesday and fridays being good nights in loughborough, then hit up derby or notts at weekend.

Guess it was getting home at 3am, then getting up for work at 6 that killed it:)

Mind you i miss the days when clubbing was clubbing, suit/shirt trousers, tie.. allways the marker of a special night out for me... Jeans a shirt or whatever just ain't the same.

When I was younger I used to all the time, because I love the music. But there's little trance around Liverpool, and the few club nights around tend to be filled with smackheads. No thanks. I usually listen to it at home with a fairly decent setup.

I think the whole clubbing thing's dying out anyway. Much prefer to go to bars instead.

This is what annoys me about clubs actually, the white shirt brigade, and bouncers that turn you away for wearing trainers. Clubs that play proper music let you in wearing a hoody:p

Seen enough at the odd disco and heard enough about to know. Pubs and gigs were what we used to do. The clubbing scene was very small.

Or possibly because you dont like music? I've seen your Status Quo post in the concert thread:p

been clubbing ever since i could, and still love it. although, it is getting ridiculously expensive to go to decent clubs like fabric et al, but there's nothing better than having a good stomp to some decent music and doing the whole pacman thing :p

Fantastic when the music is good. Alas so many clubs are just shells to play the same popular regurgitated **** over and over and over and over...

As above.

I spent 6 nights a week for 13 years in clubs and most of it was an absolute riot, working in the worst (best?) cattle market in town helped though.
Could never go back to that life though, i enjoy being married too much!

Clubbing was fun between 14-21. From 22-27 I would rather sit and read overclockers in my pants in the dark.

GD at it's best.

Usually go every weekend/Friday - It's okay... I probably enjoy the pre-drink beforehand more though :p

Really don't like how expensive it is - and one thing I really hate about it is the Bouncers - most of them are complete douchebags :(

I would live in The Arches if i could, you have to experience it, best place for a night out, no doubt about it, especially Pressure. No problem getting in with trainers on, or getting knocked back for being too wrecked, it's the absolute dogs ********.
