Coca Cola...

I used to keep a mini fridge in my room solely full of glass bottles of coke. Damn fridge had to blow up :(

What happened to vanilla? I remember trying it first on trial in Cornwall and then some more a few years back? That was my favourite.

Glass bottles > *

Bottle ***.

I still remember when bottles were the only option but then I am old.

Anyone remember when they changed the formula in the US and everyone hated it so they then switched back to 'Coke Classic' :D.

Coke with lemon was good, Cherry coke and Vanilla coke were also pretty good.

The wife of a good friend worked for the Coca Cola company and commented that the formula is allegedly not the same from country to country. I have no reason to doubt what she said but I also have not looked for any evidence to back that comment up.

On a slightly different tangant... anyone remember the Ribena scandal a couple of years ago ?. A true Scooby Doo moment - GSK " would have gotten away with it if it hadn't been for you meddling kids".

Glass, best but too expensive, too little coke though maybe thats a good thing.

Can's, as said often too fizzy but often feel more refreshing.

Small plastic bottles, meh, tastes pretty different and not great.

Big plastic bottles I find the coke tastes different to the small ones, maybe because its open longer and airs more, or something, theres a difference though.

Weird european/middle eastern coke you often get from takeaways, tiny corner shops with foreign writing and often in the 1.25l bottles, awful, different coke recipe, awful awful stuff. :(

Personally I'm a diet coke drinker, normal stuff gives you that "my teeth are covered in sugar and are actually melting" feel which I can't stand. Find diet stuff far more refreshing without the sticky sugar after taste. Diet Cherry is great, vanilla was half decent, lemon was pretty good on occasion, the newer one, is it citrus or some crap, I don't like at all.

I prefer pepsi to coke, though I can just barely tell the difference. Where ever it's from though, now I only like it if it's ice cold and in a glass with some ice. I don't mind if the ice later melts but starting to drink it without ice just doesn't taste as nice. Would prefer to not drink it at all :p

Red Bull Cola > Pepsi Raw!

Seriously do love RB Cola, only when its cold though, when its room temperature its not that nice.

OOooh I might pickup some glass bottles on the way to work now!!!

Glass bottle pepsi > Glass bottle coke > all pepsi minus raw > Pub syrup mix > all coke brand > all 'cola' (supermarket stuff) > any other cola flavoured drink > raw.

Probably due to water differences as afaik coca cola is made purely with spring water.

Glass bottles are best, cans im used to as to plastic bottled. come to think of it, where can u buy like crates of glassed cola?

1) Glass bottle of coke
2) Can of coke
3) Post mix pepsi
4) Post mix coke
5) Bottle of pepsi MAX
6) Bottle of coke

The only problem with pepsi max is that it is WAY too fizzy when you poor it into a glass

Hate diet coke and diet pepsi..... coke zero is ok but they never get the post mix right when i go to McDonalds so I have to have coke :p

Edit - Just seen some one commenting on the "raw cola" that stuff is "rank"

It does seem to taste better in the glass bottles, not sure why!

I remember seeing Orangina in a plastic bottle for the first time i almost cried, now i can't seem to find the little round glass ones anymore :(

I heard it was because the recipe for glass bottles still uses sugar, whereas cans/plastic use corn syrup or other sugar alternatives.

It's psychology. It is perceived to taste better because a can/glass bottle is higher quality than a plastic bottle.

If you actually did a blind test on all three you wouldn't notice the difference.

Just like you think it is more fizzy from a can because of the mechanism and noise associated with opening the can and introducing that fizz in the first place.

The thing is, I've done blind taste tests before (My parents got frustrated with me 'tasting the difference' between coke, pepsi and others) and always got them right. I'm sure I could taste the difference between glass bottles, cans and plastic.

It's hard to beat a really cold glass bottle of Coca Cola on a scorching hot day... the beads of condensation dripping down the outside of the bottle.... it's a wonderful thing, that first mouthful... which usually finishes the bottle for me. Any more and it's just not the same.

My brother got me 12 mini coke glass bottles and 12 large Pepsi bottles over Christmas and each one only = 25p or so, so tasty, but I'm running out already!
