COD Black Ops looks pretty good on PC

Not sure if anyone has posted already but i just installed xp instead of W7 and game now runs properly with no stutter at all :)

After buying a week ago i can finally play :)
 
Heres how it loads up on mine at the start of a game, it starts off as a slideshow almost and works its way up the fps:

Just had one of the strangest bugs. I was playing normaly and then suddenly I froze (my character, not the game, I could still see stuff happening), and then after a few seconds my fps dropped realy low and my aim stuttered around everywhere firing, then throwing grenades. I was not doing this, for some reason it was as if the fire button was stuck and it was just going through all my weapons including grenades and continuing to spam them so to no grenades warning shows up. Then after it finnished stuttering and firing automaticaly I got the purple/black chequred patern show up at the center of my screen that wouldn't go away.

After I exited and rejoined a different server it was as if nothing had happened. Its just strange that a bug because it took control of my character (it could have been 'saving up' all of my mouse movements and such when I froze, and then when it unfroze it suddenly tried to do them all at once or something, I don't know), and that purple/black pattern made me worried that it could have been an issue my side as I have ready about people seeing strange textures and such when their graphics card overheats.

Anyway, does anyone have any advice on whats the fastest way to gain xp? Currently I play HC HQ as that seems good xp, although I'm not sure if something like a TDM or nuketown may be best, using the large ammounts of kills/min to complete lots of weapon challenges.

Exact same thing happened me yesterday, my gun started firing and reloading for no reason and the fps musta have been around 3-5 or so.

Yes I can wait a few seconds but it is quite a shoddy bug I think.

had the exact same problem today, only with the favourites menu though

Ah I've had that ONCE in about 100 hours, when I saw the checkerboard effect I immediately feared my graphics card was broken :eek: As you do. But just the same as you, it was okay on the next map and hasn't occurred again so far.

Oddly enough that bug is present in the console versions too, so it's a problem with the game and not anyone's computer.
 
Ive been getting the fire a bullet reload bug and today i had one where i could no longer move left it just wasn't responding...

I thought it was an admin playing tricks on me cos i was doing particularly well.... Remember when they could unbind all your keys in the olden days :O

Weirdest one i had yesterday My screen when completely black for 15 seconds, i thought i had crashed, then it came back to life, all be it it a tiny bit laggy.

Someone said somethign like " Jesus i thought id crashed then" i replied " did you black screen then lag" and 5 out of 18 people all said yeah me aswell.........

this games so ****ed.
 
Well I threw in a new GT460 1GB and reinstalled windows and went from 30fps to 70-90fps. the game has stopped stuttering as much and is far more playable. just enjoying the SP campaign now before I try out Multiplayer :)

Seems to be plenty of nubs doing that online, soon as they see someone they go down quicker than a Hooker on freebie night. Still havn't figured out what type of Terrain Tiger Camo would work in. :confused:
