collecting from overclockers

Maybe we should hand over free usernames and passwords for customers in the shop :p

Jokes aside i do think the Forums should be advertised in shop. The Dudes in front of me always ask questions that could be resolved on here Before they fill up the Q/shop. ;)

I've bought plenty from Overclockers but I've never had any of it posted.:o

When I ordered my first item from the shop I had it delivered to my house, as soon as it arrived my dad said 'Why have you had it delivered the shop is only 10 mins away'. :p
Since then I've always driven to both the old shop and the new for items!

And on the other foot a lot of people shop at OcUK & don't know they have a Forum.
I kid you not, I've stood in the Q & told others about the forums & they were like "What Forums"

OP.
Enjoy the new kit & post the full spec for us to browse over.

I used to buy from them before I came across the forums. That said, that was quite a few years ago! (About 8-9 years ago I think!)

OcUK online customer service is very good and i am wondering what their store is like.

For example a chain of well known audio specialist stores allow you to arrange to hear and demo equipment before purchase, does OCuk do anything similar for pc parts?

For example if i wanted to hear irl how noisy a corsair ax1200 psu is, do they offer this kind of service?

Tbh i am probably hoping for too much but it would be really cool if they did this

You'll have to ask them, but I would be surprised if they didn't.

doubt they'd ever offer anything like this. they'd need so many different items ready for us and they'd be forever changing as the products don't last too long.

have you googled/youtubed for the psu? i've seen plenty videos of gpu cards showing them off and you can roughly hear the noise.

That was just an example but noise sections of most reviews seem to be the least accurate part of the review and also the tone of the noise can make all the difference between an air flow noise vs. and annoying whine

For example most recently i watched a youtube noise review of a 6870 vs. a gtx 470 and the 6870 had a similar volume but a less annoying sound.

Afaik the audio chain still sells the demo stock for full price while its a current model and customers are happy to pay full price as the item is still in mint condition and they appreciate the demo service.

But i understand the pc industry moves at a much faster pace then the audio industry and the amount of parts you would need to have to hand for demos would be huge.
