Hi all,

It's time to move on from my i5 750. I've just upgraded from a 980ti to a 1080ti so now even though I still feel my I5 750 at 4.2Ghz is quick. I am definitely way out of date.

So basically because I've not been in the market for so long I feel like an absoloute novice and basically starting again overclocking etc!

Anyway. Heard theres this new coffee cake (lake?) thing coming out. Am I best waiting for that?

I guess I'll need new memory etc aswell.

Happy I got 10 years out of my I5 750, you could say it's paid for itself a number of times over.

But in order to move forwards I do need to upgrade.

Thanks for that, I can't believe how long ago it was now, probably the best cpu I had maybe I'll glass frame it on my wall as it's lasted so long :D

So at this moment I'm probably best just waiting on for the i7-8700k with new motherboard / memory.

Yes purely gaming.

I'm from Yorkshire originally and I like bang for buck so AMD are tempting this time round

Could anyone recommended a good bang for buck Asus motherboard

I love asus boards

Last time I went for bang for buck from what I can remember as I knew the I5 would clock well and give me the performance I need

Do I need to go any higher than a R5 1600?

Is 1800 worth it?

Budget doesn't matter too much but I am thrifty and like bang for buck and value.

Especially as I've just forked a large amount on a TI

I game at 4k

I think I'm kinda set on an Asus b350 prime and R5 1600 with memory the bundle is £350 delivered great value for money and can prob still get a few quid for my old kit

Any thoughts ???

Update on this managed to get a Ryzen 1600x and B350 prime plus

Decided to bite. On standard delivery so not sure how long however no rush as need to order a new bracket for my Watercooling

Can anyone recommend me a good cheap value for money ram kit. Only wanting 8GB?

Thanks!
