Hi guys

ive been with Talk Talk for 18 months and now thankfully am leaving (they were starting to pee me off ok for general use but not for a gamer / downloader)

anyway my question is that ive arranged my phone line to be converted back to BT when i spoke to talk talk they said they couldnt provide me with a MAC code as the BB is connected to the Phone line.

BT said this is bs however i looked on talk talks website and came up with this information :-

If TalkTalk are delivering your current broadband service using TalkTalk's own broadband network, you will not need a MAC (nor can we provide you with one in this case scenario). This is because your broadband service is being delivered to you using the LLU method (a combined voice and data service). To move away from this service you will need to choose a new service provider for calls, line rental and broadband.

so im thinking this means get off talk talk to BT then shop around for a new provider at my leisure ?

can anybody confirm this is the correct assumption?

If the voice service comes from TalkTalk's LLU network, you can't get a MAC key and have to do a Return to Donor to get to BT. Once the line's returned to BT your TalkTalk internet service would stop as well.
