Hi Guys

There are plenty of people asking, and we finally have confirmation.

EK Water Blocks EK-FC970 GTX EX - Acetal+Nickel

I pushed for an all black block to match the blacked out aesthetic of the card.

Exclusive to OcUK and Caseking.

We will have the blocks very soon, no exact ETA yet.

I will also be offering an OcUK Tech Labs version too.

in honesty, if you have seen a recent EK block then you will know what it looks like.

it will look similar to the strix 970 block in design but on an all black card, that will look epic.

I cant wait to put one together :p

I have a Strix but with a 670 block on. They're pretty much the same block. I'm assuming with it being full cover that there won't be the last little inch and a half of the card left bare. That's the only little niggle I have with some of the EKWB.

Have we got any updates/ETA's when this is coming?

Also whats the pricing going to be like and do you have to buy a card with the block pre-installed and not as the block its self?

All the other 970 blocks are mostly £80 - £90, so prob expecting it to be around there. I'm almost all on for one of these. I'm pretty much certain on keeping the infinite black, it's been a great card thus far.

I do have a nagging doubt about longevity, especially if spending £380 total with a water block. I wish Nvidia would come out with some sort of reply to the recent scandal. Anyway, that's for another thread.

Hurry up with some dates Mr ONeil before my doubt gets the better of me :-D

Thanks for that clarification dude! many thanks!

Is it going to be a full card block including VRM cooling etc?

For those expecting it to be "Same/Similar" Price i honestly wouldnt get your hopes up.

The Block is custom designed to fit only OCUKs version of this card. So in comparison to other Blocks that can fit Various manufactures cards because they have a universal design.

Therefore less will have been produced on a production run of these and probably the only retailers that will sell will beexclusvely to OCUK and Caseking so no competition to drive prices down.

So really they can charge a premium if they want.

ok so this project got put to the side on this occasion.

reason being is because of the Galax name having to change. for ocuk, this didnt really have any impact as we just switched back to using KFA2 in our region. but for caseking in Germany this caused issues where they cant sell the cards or something [dont quote me on that, i dont know the exact details]

basically it means we decided to cancel the order for the blocks and instead will just do it on our next exclusive card.

as for the pricing. the price of the blocks was actually very reasonable. our MOQ wasnt crazy and split between ocuk and caseking customers, it was entirely doable.

the pricing for the block was set to be £80 in this region which is the standard pricing for a full cover solution from EKWB.

we will be doing something like this in future, dont worry.
