How far do you commute to work, and how long does it generally take you?

Do you drive, cycle, catch a train, catch a bus, or walk?

At the moment, I drive about 6 miles to work, and this takes me about 15 minutes.

I must say, I love having a short commute!

Before I could drive and whilst working at my previous job, I had a 30 minute walk to the train station, a 25 minute train journey, and another 30 minute walk to the office on the other side! This wasn't helped by the fact that trains are notoriously late.

If I couldn't drive now, I'd have no hope to getting to my current office, it's out in the middle of nowhere!

3.5miles each way and I drive. Takes less than 10mins in the morning but can take up to 20mins coming home dependant on traffic.

Would work out more expensive to take the tram and I can't walk the way I drive as it's a raised motorway ringroad so it would work out to be a 4.5mile walk which I don't fancy first thing in the morning!

69 miles each way - anything from an hour and a half to two hours. Although if they want me to go to the other site its 140 miles each way and can take up to 5 hours. Thankfully this is extremely rare.

I live about 2 miles from work, bus most days as parking in the city centre costs over £5 per day and the work car park is tiny.

Bus takes about 20 minutes in the morning and about half an hour on the way back due to traffic. When the weather isn't so bad I sometimes cycle in, this is much faster than the bus taking 10 - 15 minutes depending how hard I push.

Around 18 miles or so, takes an hour using train and tube.

Previous job I could drive to in 15-20 minutes, so much nicer.

50miles each way, takes just under an hour with little traffic.

Live in Amazingstoke and work in Bucks, so M3 & M25 every day for me. Probably moving to Southampton in the summer, so will be about 75miles each way. Missus works in Southampton.

I can't believe some of you drive less than 5 miles! Why don't you get a bike?

I have a 30 mile commute which usually takes about 45 - 50 minutes driving.

The road I drive on to work leads out into the country and is pretty narrow. It was some bends on it, and gets very dark in the evenings - would be dangerous to cycle on!

3 yards and about 5 seconds

My office is the next room to my bedroom :p

^^ The ultimate!

That is just insane, I couldn't handle up to 4 hours a day in my car (or 10 if the other site)! I hope they pay you well!

I have a 45 mile trip each way for uni which sucks. Could do without it but needs must. Takes between 55-90 minutes depending on time of day etc :(
