Hi

I am after getting a decent compact for those times when i CBA taking my Nikon out and about with me and need to grab some decen images.

On the wish list are 12MP+, HD Video recording (1080p if possible) and control over the normal functions (Aperture, Shutter speed, ISO), kind of a DSLR in a compact body really.

Have done som einitial looking and have seen the Samsung TL350. Does anyone in here have any hands on experience with that camera? or any other recommends.

Many thanks in advance

It certainly looks like a well-specced camera, but it falls short of your wish list by being 'only' 10MP.

But is that model even on sale any more? It seems to have been superseded by the WB2000.

Saw the pixel count after i had posted originally as was going to edit, but our IT system in work is proper ancient (am using IE6 here.....) so cant utiles the edit facility.

Haven't seen the WB2000, so will have a look at that.

Cheers

I wouldn't worry too much about the MP count. Anything over 10 could be argued as being overkill for a sensor as small as the ones you'll find in your typical compact.

For me it's more important to look at the quality of the lens and of the sensor itself, which both seem to be superb on the WB2000. In fact, bar the stupid analogue displays on the top plate, there's little to dislike about it.

Have plumped for the WB2000 as when i Goggled it, it appears to be the European nomenclature for the TL350.

hopefully should have it through before New Year, so can have a good old play with it.

I thought the specs looked very similar!

It does look like a cracking little compact. Can you post some sample images up once you've had a chance to get to grips with your new toy?

Sure thing, wont be until the new year as it takes a while for post to reach me at the moment, but will put some up.
