To cut a long story short I have been having a problem with my Xbox 360, after much arguing with the shop they finally asked for my contact details to pass onto MS so they could get in touch with me about a fix. At the same time another person has been doing the same thing as me and been asked to send his details in.

This morning I get an email from 'company' (I think they'll be classed as a competitor) that was forwarded to myself and the other complainer. So now he has my email address and I have his, I also have an email from him.

This is in itself is not that big a deal to me, I emailed him back and we had a bit chat about our respective problems with the company.

Now I have just received another email, a FW of an email that has been sent to MS, it contains all my contact details (address, mobile, email) and some of his. I can only assume that he has the same email with all my details.

My email address I don't mind a stranger having too much, but my address and mobile number and full name is a but much to give to someone who I have never met, this principal of the thing is appalling.

Surely there must be some kind of law about these kinds of things.

Sorry but I just had to rant.

I thought it might be, this company has cocked up so many times its unbelievable.

I cant see me having much of a legal standing tho surely, I doubt there is much I can do.

Lawyer and/or CAB, have a chat with consumer protection bodies, also identity protection bodies, they are going to love this. Don't delete any of the emails.
