Hi, ive preordered this stonking game from amazon, and Im wondering what the release date is? some websites think the 14th, some think the 29th? I want this thing in my mitts friday!

29th here sadly.

Will be arranging games when it comes out and for a little while.

Add me to your MSN as I am wantng to get some 8 way (if we can) OcUK gaming action in. :)

Yeah 29th UK

Played the demo lastnight, a hefty 1,8gb dload (thank god for 10mbit)

Initial thoughts - beautiful grpahics amazing detail, good single player but multiplayer??? Hmmmmm

You can see the Dawn of War influence Relic used.

If it wasnt a ww2 genere i was thinking to myself would i even bother playing this? (i lub ww2 theme games)

Still all that said, bring on the 29th :)

4vs4 etc could be serious fun, but 1vs1.... i think would be slightly poop.

I played the demo and i'm not a huge rts fan but this was just brilliant, the atmosphere etc and the omaha beach level was great,so i pre-ordered it straight away. :D

My system is this

512 ram
Celeron D 3.06
Nvidia 5500FX 256mb
It runs perfectly fine at 1024*768 :)

You will have no problems, youi will just have to have settings on low.

Anyone know the Australian Release date?

I've preordered this :D

However had some thoughts about it.

COH (RTS) Vs Suddenstrike 2 (RTS).

Strip both games of graphics and Suddenstrike 2, comes out better playability wise imo. In COH you cannot hold fire in a building to setup ambushes, you can not set the layout of troops in a building. Battles are more build and rush to choke points in coh.

Suddenstrike 2 is bigger and battles are more messy, especially stale mate situations and moving units.

Graphic wise COH wins and the strategic points and being able to manufacture units is a bonus, I am still buying it for all its worth and flaws as SS2 struggles abit on XP.

I always thought the SS series were on a huge scale - not quite as easy to get into as a Dawn of War-esque game, and as such not really comparable.

Thought doesn't help, unless you played SS2 then you will know the feel of both aspects and as such be able to compare the two.

I pre-ordered the game too, shame I will be on bloody holiday when it arrived at my house :( *sigh*

I tried the beta server last night too, unplayable. Lets hope they change that, but I have a feeling they may switch off resources to the beta now the game is released in the US... Was working fine before that :(

This game is very addictive and wonderful to play, certainly has my attention grabbed all the way through. Strategy wise, people will soon discover that just building a heap of tanks really will not get you very far at all.

The single player campaign demo is fantastic where you have 15 mins to plan your defensive before a huge onslaught of German panzers and troops come rushing through. Awesome!

I urge anyone to at least try the SP demo, its like a game in itself!

OMG I want that boxset! There seems to be a collectors tin also (not that one) going on sale through a lot of Aus and NZ sites. Looks like we'll have to settle for the standard version here. :(

Like you I like the old WW2 theme so I will give this one ago. Have you tried the Faces of War demo yet as the game will be released this Fri. I sort of tried out the demo but could not figure out how to select invidual players & squads and I found the controls a bit wierd, so I gave up. I don't want to go off topic so I may just start a another thread.
