Con Lake Con firmed [Warning: AdoredTV]

No 'probably' about it but because adored is a completely biased source anyone not already knowing anything about the CPU's involved would potentially buy into his deliberate omissions and mis representations....

He's a total waste of space unless you are already an irrational AMD fan and want to indulge in some post purchase rationalisation ... If you know anything about PC's you know not to take his reviews at face value and if you don't know much/anything about PC's he's very misleading....

Just look at the two fairly recent pc games he decided to review on his channel..... Tomb raider and Doom.... Oh what a ****ing surprise two titles that perform atypically well on AMD hardware compared to Nvidia hardware

Uhh no... Doom you have a point...but Tomb Raider? lolz, ok.. your arguement loses all credibility right there my friend. Yeah it was released with Tress FX thats about the only AMD bias there as the DX12 implementation that was added actually gives better performance on Nvidia hardware, oh yeah thats right, they bundled Tomb Raider with Nvidia cards too.... Not to mention patched in Gameworks features...

Doom runs well on AMD because Doom runs on Vulkan, which just doesn't like nVidia's current architecture as much as it does AMD's, that's it.

Actually i think i'll add to this, Doom and Vulkan runs very very nicely on nVidia, its much smoother than any DX game, 11 or 12, its just not on par with AMD running Vulkan, that's not to say its not excellent on nVidia, it really is, its beautiful. like silk.

You have jumped the gun I'm afraid.... I didn't claim it was an AMD biased title I said it was one where AMD cards performed atypically (to other contemporary titles).... I should have been a bit clearer that this is principally the case with the dx12 implementation.... Where some AMD cards perform comparably far better then their Nvidia competitors......

A game title performing atypically well for AMD does not necessarily make it an AMD biased title... It just means that the performance is necessarily representative of a broader selection of contemporary titles....

My point was that Adored has a marked tendency to try and show AMD in their best light even when they are underperforming and/or misleading consumers..... When AMD locked polaris cards to 60fps and underclocked them just so they could misleadingly make claims about their power efficiency Adored describes this as puting 'their best foot forward' rather than the truth of then deliberately misleading their consumers and the press with a disengenious scenario.....

AMD 'have a mountain to claim' when they are failing where as Nvidia are bunch or scamming 'murderers' who customers are suckers being 'played'.....

Intel are a bunch of anti competitive, anti consumer con artists who have 'lost'

Oh and here's a competition to win some AMD gear if you hadn't already spotted the obvious bias....

So you want him to balance every Intel video with an AMD video? can he only be genuine if he takes a BBC mantra approach to journalism?

No I would only recommend him if he showed a lot more objectivity when he makes his videos....

I don't want a false balance for the sake of it

Poor Vega being a belter.

I Re watched that video and the only real comment to make is that even adored knew he could not try to polish the **** that Vega was/ is... Late, hot, power hungry, poor performing and expensive due to being ridled with poor design choices

However he doesn't go after AMD anywhere near properly enough when it comes to them misleading their customers and the tech press (most notably with the gpu's recently)

Did you ever think that he possibly puts the evocative titles for people like you who get slightly emotional about them? It amazes me how someone can see straight through his contempt and bias yet use lots of energy arguing about it, rather than just acknowledge it for what you see it for and move on.

I like his videos and have watched most his stuff, strangely enough I've not watched this one and have no real desire too either.

That's a reasonable point to make just aslong as no one wants to claim he is a good source for balanced information

Two contradictions in one post.

I think you just don't want him talking bad nVidia or Intel at all.

Just as long as he goes after AMD with the same vigour when they are in the wrong which I say he definetly does not..... Being mildly critical of AMD here and there does not get him out of this charge

He can be though as he quite often uses a lot of sources from various places to make his points. For example have you watched this one? - Intel - Anti-Competitive, Anti-Consumer, Anti-Technology.

Does he have a bias towards Amd? I would say so, but not in the fanatical, foaming at the mouth style that some would like you to believe.

The Poor Vega video was pretty vigorous.

Again you're justifying your complaint with balance politics, he's not critical enough of AMD, should he make a video about how AMD screwed Intel over to balance the Intel anti consumer video? what if AMD never did such a thing, should he make it up, would that satisfy your vendor politics?

I previously gave a clear example where AMD mislead consumers and the press over polaris power consumption and he described it as 'putting their best foot forward' yes he was critical of Vega but that is only a reflection of it being hard to say much positive about it regardless of how you try to spin things

Is that it, this is the sum of your of you gripe with him, he didn't attack AMD vigorously enough for showing a product in its best light?

What else do you want him to say about that? If everyone was upset with everyone for PR'ing their products in the best light there would be nothing else to talk about on the interwebs.

Just, no.....

Wonder if @Caracus2k woke up one morning to find Jim peeing into his cornflakes? ;) as ive stated before he admits he champions the underdog, currently thats AMD, that will change if a new player enters the market im sure.

So we can all agree he's not objective in his criticism then? I'm fine with his videos right up until the point people try to claim that he's a good source for a balanced objective assessment of tech issues.

His use of click bait titles and hyperbole when it comes to Nvidia and Intel renders him so in my view....

For example there was non 'con' with regards to the clock speeds of the 8700(k) intel can't be accountable for the build quality and component selection of all OEM builds using their components..... Intel being somewhat non committal on what multi core boost speeds are definitely attainable in all situations is not a 'con' its a reflection of the fact that Intel cannot guarantee (near) optimal performance for a CPU in all circumstances... Take that chip out of the cheap medion PC slap it on a half decent board with some other reasonable components and I think we can all guess what the results would then be (I. E far more in line with the rest of he reviews )

This is objectively an differeny scenario then some recent AMD schenanigans like locking the FPS on a card and down clocking it to try and claim its far more energy efficient then the competition when in reality it's not anything like as efficient as claimed when clocks are raised so it is actually competing performance wise with the competitior..... ADORED calls this AMD 'putting their best foot forward' i would call it at best being deliberately disengenious

Every youtuber does it, for the advertising revenue. Jays2cents, Linus, hardware cannucks, they ALL do it. It's called marketing. I personally hate all click baiting but sometimes I fall for it and end up clicking on it.

Give up mate, I've learned there really is no point.

I'm curious. Please point us to a youtuber that has 0 personnal bias and is completely objective, so we can see what stick you are using to measure AdoredTV with.
