Hi,

Have just bought and fitted on of the above cards and was expecting to see a core speed of 625Mhz and a mem speed of 1450Mhz as advertised for this card. But looking at CCC or ATI Tray Tools shows much lower settings... of 500Mhz and 1188Mhz.

Am I missing something here??

This on a Gigabyte DS3 with an Allendale e6300 plus 2GB Geil PC6400 DDR2.

Thanks.

My question is :

Why did ati invent such a stupid idea? are we still using voodoo banshee cards or something

Im using an ati x1800Xt apart from the annoying rubbish beeeep 3d switching, i love the card

ATI didn't invent 2D/3D mode switching, and it's hardly new. My 6600GT and 6800GT had it, just not handled through a system process, and it wouldn't surprise me if the Geforce 7 series have it either.

Cracking idea IMO, why the hell do you want your graphics card to run full speed while your browsing the web, or writing a letter, doing a spreadsheet etc... jesus all the frames your losing while making a spreadsheet, jesus its a slideshow, the figures im typing are appearing 15 years after ive pressed the damn keys, what a terrble slow card.
