I want to connect my Dell 2407FPW (RevA03) to my PS3 to run at full HD (1080p). I've been advised what I need is a HDMI(Male) to DVI-D Dual Link cable. Just wanted to check if that is correct ? Also, I've read a few posts on another forum, where it says the Dual link cable (25pin) offers greater bandwidth and hence clarity as compared to a single link cable (19pin). Is this true ?

Also, does it make a difference what brand of cable I get. As they are all digital signals, will I see any improvement using a Belkin PureAv cable over the cheapo, non brand cables off the big auction site ?

Any advice appreciated :)

I'm using a 2m, HDMI-DVI (19pin) cable that I got online for less than £5, it works fine, image is good for me on my 2407fpw. I'm getting sound from the optical out.

A standard DVI cable handles the Dells max resolution without problem, so I don't see why a signal from a PS3 will be any different.

Dual Link isn't required for 1080p and won't make the slightest difference.

The only thing I'd be concerned about is the A03 revision, which means you won't get 1:1 pixel mapping, you'll be stuck with it scaled to full screen. I've had to put up with this with my 360 for HD DVDs, and it is noticable, is annoying. I can put up with it for movies, but it's too distracting for games.
