Sorry, not sure if this is in the right section or not

Just got some 6x9's for my car and was just wondering how to connect them.

The connecting block that came with the car only has connections for both the front left speaker and the front right speaker:

And the block that came with the HU fits into it without trouble, also has connections for the rear left and rear right speakers: (two green and two purple)

My question is, how do i connect the wires that run from my rear speakers, to the connecting block? (the green and purple wires)

Could i just cut the purple and green wires and solder them directly to my new speaker wires?

Cheers

Yup, easiest way. And the fact you've considered soldering and not chocolate blocks shows a worrying level of pride in the job ;)

Halfords do little packs of connectors, that might be a better idea than just soldering, as it means you can unplug them if you need to take the HU out without having to desolder them.

All up and running  , thanks for the replies

to save hassle id run them both down the same side.

have you upgraded the front speakers at all?
