Considering a Macbook/Pro - Questions..

If you click the Apple in the menu bar and select "About this Mac" click "more info" and in the hardware overview, there will be a serial number listed. Copy and paste that into here: https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do and it'll tell you if you're covered by AppleCare or if your machine has been registered with Apple yet.

I havnt received it yet but will do when I get it :p

Thanks for the tip !

This one?
MacRumors if you can handle the moaning about unannounced product releases.

Personally I don't use MacRumours. The fanboyism on this forum is far more tolerable than MacRumours. The only other forum I use for Apple stuff is Apple's own discussion boards. And only when I have to. For the same reasons I don't use MacRumours.

I picked up a brand new sealed MacBook Pro 13" 2010 from an auction site for £800 delivered the other month :)

Can't put it down, put Windows 7 boot camp partition on but have never used it so deleted it the other week :D

Enjoy your new purchase ;)

Im still waiting for mine - Royal Mail special delivery clearly isnt that special :( It's been posted from London to Herts and apparently because of the snow theres a back log.

So annoying.

How can it not have applecare? I thought they were close to 1K new so was it second hand when he got it?

Have you checked the warranty status online in that case?

Their great aren't they :D

Well its in warranty until next August but beyond that i will prob have to extend it.

Can anyone recommend a good OSX book?

Oh you meant extended Applecare anyway?

I can't I'm afraid I just read here and play with it :o Someone one here might be able to point you in the right direction though

No worries, i seem to be picking things up fairly quickly. Seems to be a shortcut for everything!

Actually quite liking Safari as a browser - am yet to use firefox on it and see no reason to at the mo.

Loving it :D
