Console Games & Hardware section set to overtake PC Games...

Also just thought, PC gaming will start pushing into the lead again soon as everyone knows console gamers go out in the summer ;)

Cos xbox360's don't like the heat :p

I am only kidding, that was a wee light hearted humour so please don't all go in the huff :(

I dont think console popularity is taking over PC gaming in this forum.

The console section is generalised into 4-6+ different consoles (360, ps3, wii, GC, ps2, ds, psp, retro), so obiviously you will get more people posting here.
On the otherhand the PC gaming is single format.

If the console section was split into console specific sub sections the number of viewers and visitors will be low.

Is there something wrong with 3 year old games?
That isn't the point. The point is PC gamers HAVE to talk about 3 year old games because of a lack of good new ones. Only recently have a few more games worth talking about being released. (Command and Conquer 3 / Supreme Commander).

Other than that it's all FarCry, Half-Life 2 or World of Warcraft.

Whilst there is nothing wrong talking about a 3 year old game, it does get incredibly repetative when it's constant with new threads daily regarding said old titles.

A lot of threads here are about the consoles themselves, hardware and peripherals.

Since the PC forum is specifically about the games then maybe that's why it has less posts? :p

And most of the posts in PC Games are about 3 year old games.

I was about to post something similar.

The main difference between the two sections can be seen when comparing pretty much all console and pc gaming forums. Console forums are generally filled with discussions about the games people playing, planning to get, and bickering about which machine is the best. PC gaming forums are filled with not a lot, especially in relation to games people are actually playing at the moment.

Bit of a tame version don't you think?

"PS3 rawks"
"Nevar, 360 >PS3"
"But it has blu-ray"
"I don't want blu-ray"
"It has free online gaming"
"I don't play online"
"Ha, onlines better than single player"
"So, we have a better ranger of games"
"But we have MGS, FFXIII and GT4"
"Yawn"
.......
"Wii owns all"
"Nevar, Wii has rubbish graphics"
etc

You forgot one....

"My 360 has died!"

It all really comes down to this....

There's simply more happening and more to talk about in the world of console games, I believe the PC is dieing as a games machine, I've even downgraded my rig (sig) from a E6600 + 8800GTS to claw some cash back and you know what my present rig still plays BF2, CSS etc. perfectly fine. I think it's far better for us consumers if we can get away with spending £300 every 5yrs on a new console than throwing £1000's at a PC to play a handfull of games at 200fps.

Theres so many questions to be asked about consoles... can you connect this? does it do that? will it cost me the other? But with a PC its simple as you already know about your PC. Plus this section is about both the hardware and games, where as if you have a PC problem or question not directly related to a specific game you would probably post it elsewhere on the forums.

Also the recent release of the Wii and PS3 and meant in increase in people asking questions and talking about the games.

I don't see it as PC gaming dying or anything like that. Us PC types just spend more time playing the games and less time chatting about them :p
