I have a new cisco which i finally got configured yesterday. Synced at around 6.5mb and downloads were nice and quick. At 16:30 it started dropping sync every few minutes and within 30 mins it had got to the state where it was constantly syncing then disconnecting again. It was like that till gone 22:30 and i turned it off as the clicking was becoming very irritating. This morning i turned it on and it synced right away at decent speeds and has been stable all morning so far. I think i've read something about problems like this during peak times but can't find anything on google. Anyone know about this problem or have any ideas?

My old router worked perfectly without any disconnects so it looks like it's not my ISP.

Looks like you got interference problem at night mostly caused by something electrical in your house or someone else’s

Like me at night, mine does the exact same apart from lots of disconnects

So far ive been unable to track it down [ive tried turned the mains off and using an adsl modem and laptop

post your attenuation and snr at a peak time if the snr downstream is lower than 7 this will be causing your disconects, and cappin your speed down a bit will raise it higher and as such stop the disconnections.
this may be the issue but would need your stats first to confirm

Noise levels were between 14 and 20. Exactly the same as when it is synced this morning from what i can see. I have found some info about the dsl operating-mode causing instability. I have it set to Auto and apparently setting to UK Ansi-dmt should sort it.

it may do, also you get be gettin a lot of errors on your line that only your isp could check properly get in touch with them if that settings does not work
