constant ticking on my headphones?

Just built a new comp, everything is ok but I keep hearing a ticking noise coming out of my headphones? Any ideas how to fix?

Do you use onboard sound or a soundcard? It could be that a cable is too close to the soundchip and is causing electrical interference. Other than that I'm not too sure.

Onboard sound, some HD audio thing. Was playing a game earlier and PC froze up with sound just playing over and over until I had to manually rr. Maybe they could be related?

It could, is there any way for you to try a soundcard? Maybe borrow one from a mate to see if it makes any difference, remember to disable the onboard sound in the bios if you do.

Speedlink Medusa 5.1 Pro Gamer

And i do have a soundcard, just thought maybe the onboard on this mobo may be better, what you think?

I get the same effect in my speedlinks when the wifi is active. Try seperating the antenna and your amp box, i can minimise it with a little futtering.

Cordless phones easily cause interference too.
