Just im on the monthly trial at the moment and im finding them fine im just more inclined to going onto dailys. Basically ive worked out that while dailys are going to cost me 83p per pair monthlys are going to cost me £13 per pair so surely theres a diffrance between quality, Also if you wear them what do you prefer?
Cheers :)

but if im thinking right dailies would be 83p per pair per day so in theory monthlys would be cheaper  I currently have to pay £11 for 15 pairs

(i'm rather tired today so i could be completely wrong)

I currently wear specsavers opsys dailies. They were changed recently (not sure what from) but the contact lenses now looks a pale blue and they dry out a lot more.

I'm actualy thinking of going onto monthly's. Someone told me the ones they use allow more oxygen to get to the eyes. I think he can also sleep with them in but i'm not 100% sure...

I use monthlys, think they cost about £35 for a six month supply, plus solution on top of that. They're very comfortable and I've never had a problem with them. They don't dry out and they are very easy to clean. Annoying thing is that when you go away anywhere for the night you have to remember to bring solution and a case as you can't just throw them out.

Yeah monthlys are cheaper im just thinking in terms of quality, and they advised me not to sleep in then as they can apparantly "fuse to your cornea" according to the opticions here, appetising i think you will agree hehe

I use monthly ones, but have to take them out at night, not sure on the price, but I get 3 months worth for £15 I think, but as I said, I'm not sure on that, might be £15 per month >.>

I read about that, some guy forgot to take his lenses out but put new ones in, in the mornin. So ended up impairing his vision with a big layer of contact lenses over his eyes. This was awhile back... don't have a source. Just incase. :p

I use Monthlys from Specsavers £13 per month (direct debit). Take them out each night (apart from the odd occasion). Not used any other optician but can't fault Specsavers really. They post 3 months worth out at a time with the solution (which often runs out before the next batch arrives, in which case boots do a bottle for 3 quid or something).

Not sure if this is what your optician was talking about, but I have accidently slept in mine before and they do stick to your eye. You can still see through them but they are dry and you cant take them out, it's have having an extra layer on your eye. Sounds horrible but it's fine, just put a drop of solution on them and they soften up again.

This also happens when they get wet.

Acuvue Oasys fortnightly lenses for me. £25 a month from Vision Express, and they are excellent. I absolutely cannot tell I'm wearing them, except for the fact that the world isn't an unrecognizable blur. Also, although you are meant to replace the lenses every 2 weeks, I often find I can wear the same set for longer than that with no problems.

I've fallen asleep with my dailies in plenty of times, normally only for a few hours at most but once it was all night. I realised something was wrong when i woke the next day and could read things clearly lol

it stang like crazy taking them out as they'd dried so much and I could hear them making a sort of crinkling noise as I peeled them off my eyes...erlack!

Tefal - continous wear, that's the type i was thinking of! thank you :D

Been wearing dailys for about 15years now

Started on Johnson & Johnson but for last 5-6years been using Bausch&Lomb. The J&J were thicker (like monthlies) but the B&L are just as comfortable and cheaper (!!) if a little more fiddly to begin with.

I've stuck with dailys because as others have pointed out you don't need to mess about with solutions and originally I got contacts for swimming. Since the lenses are over 50% water if you swim you should throw them out (pool water + crap gets into the lens).

Have a look at sourcing your contacts online. Get a valid prescription and contact lens check at a local optician then order your lenses online. Give them the details of the optician and they'll check the validity of the checks then send out your lenses.

Dailies! Couldn't be bothered with all that cleaning and care with monthlies, less risk or hassle through dailies.

I switched though when there was scare about the cleaning fluid used with monthlies and some people had had an adverse effect, causing damage to their eyes.

I've worn my dailies for weeks at a time due to sheer laziness over the last 14 years, it saves me a fortune and my vision hasn't degraded at all in 12 years. I'm aware of the risks, eye ulcers and so forth, guess i've just been lucky. I'm trying to be more on top of things and change them daily, but I have a habit of falling asleep reading/in front of the tv and then forget to take them out, lol!

I've had mine split in my eye before at work, wandered round like a pirate for a while till I got a fresh one brought in, fun times.

had friends who literally gagged if they saw me taking them out/putting them in too, was fun :p

I've heard monthlys are the best but they're a pain in the arse, if you forget the contact solution then you've got to go home, like you can't stay out.
I need to get my eyes tested though, driving along i thought a fat woman in a brown coat was a horse for a second.

I'm fortunate enough to be allergic to the standard solution, and need the peroxide stuff instead, which needs 6 hours to disinfect and neutralise, meaning if I take them out, I can't put them back in for 6 hours, so I have to be careful on when I'm going to be getting up the next day :/
