Hi guys, just wondering if it is at all possible for me to turn on my 360 using my kameleon remote control, it's one of the higher end remotes, paid around £70 for it, and it can be programed to control what you like.

Now i'm using a wireless controller, is it infrared? If i was able to turn it on using the remote, would i be able to use it to control dvd's playing in the xbox?

Thanks.

Assuming we are talking Xbox 360, I would suggest you will need to borrow or obtain a 360 remote to train your own remote.

No..The xbox360 wireless controllers are not infra red...

He's referring to the Xbox 360 remote control (that you got with the early Premium models and also the HD-DVD drive) as opposed to the actual joypad
itself.

*EDIT* Apologies, just re-read the OP and noticed he asked whether the actual joypad was IR. You are quite correct to say it aint!

And in answer to the original question - I'm 90% certain that it is possible as a mate of mine uses his kameleon with his 360 (there is a slight doubt here as the only times I've seen him use it have been at times when we were intoxicated and I can't remember if it was for the 360 directly... quite sure it was though...)

As Memphis says, if you can get hold of a 360 remote you should be able to train the kameleon.
