Converting word newsletter to an E-mail

I volunteer for a charity once a week and recently they've had me doing some IT work for them. They usually send out a newsletter with a PDF document attached as a newsletter. The document is written in word first then converted to PDF.

They would ideally like the newsletter as part of the e-mail itself, not an attachment. I've tried just to copy and paste the word document into the e-mail but it doesn't come out right, is there anything else I could do?
 
I might be wrong, but in Microsoft Word isn't there a button somewhere that says send as e-mail? I'm sure you'd have to be using Outlook here but it might be worth your time setting it up. As they say, spend a little - save a lot :P
