I'm the last person to say this because I'm such a tight wad but in regards to water cooling a 580 and the so called £45 expense, it's actually worth it.

Hey,

He's on about the £45 charge to fit the block. I'd be tempted with a stock 580 given they are circa £380 now but you'd want a nice watercooling loop to go with that card :)

When we fit a water block to a GPU it invalidates the warranty with the manufacturer, so if we sell you a GPU with a water block we fit then if the card becomes faulty and OcUK will have to replace your card & block at OcUK's cost, hence the price for fitting and warrantying the card.

A card can take upto 30 mins to fit the block properly, think about what servicing costs you get from a garage for your car and then the warranty covered by OcUK, so £45 isnt expensive.

ooo shiney. £45 on face value is steep until you actually think about it and I would pay that. Took me about 2 hours to remove my stock heat sink as I couldn't get one of the screw out, so removing hassle and then fitting the block and the removal of worrying of bricking your new card - £45 is well worth it IMO.

I am not looking at the upgrade at the moment but sometime to remember come upgrade time. Couple of questions if you don't mind though.
1. Do we get the stock cooler too? Really thinking come resale would be nice to have it.
2. The picture shows the plexi block, would it be possible to get the acetal blocks fitted if you phoned up?

Hey Ace,

Think you've got it covered there but servicing labour wise from my garage is £30 per hour and he gets all oily doing so! You guys get to play with expensive stuff while remaining clean! You should pay us ;)

This is great, if you were to do this yourself you would have no warranty at all, so if it didn't work or broke you lost the money straight away. The fact this is fitted professionally, has a fantastic waterblock on, tested before being sent out, and is a good quality graphic card and has TWO years warranty. Bargain deal to be quite honest.
