Coppers - Channel 4

haha great episode as usual....i can imagine it got a lot of people riled up that were watching it.
tbh i found all of the police behaviour justified....you only have to look at the recent student protests to understand how quickly it can get out of hand if the police arent in full control.
and unfortunately some shoving, smashing, swearing to gain control is whats needed sometimes.

these police officers are clever, and its very easy to slate them when your not in there shoes
people seem to of missed the ball regarding the arresting for swearing, they were clearly prevoking the police officers out of the main protest (when they were trying to get them to leave) , theres a clear difference to when the police were saying 'get the **** off me or our break your arm' when there being rammed by 100s of people - that no longer want to protest but cause harm to others and property.

How come that police officer was telling that guy to take the face mask off? Is it against the law now?

Section 60, Criminal Justice and Public Order Act allows that to happen provided a senior officer has authorised it for a designated area.

And now that guy has been arrested for swearing, yet a police officer was doing earlier?

It never looks good and it is never taught but on the street it is sometimes the only language that some understand.

TBH I would like to see the police strike the next time one of these things happen. Would love to see the UAF try to say the police are a waste of money when they are getting owned by murder.

It also confirmed my belief that it is the UAF that cause the most trouble and show more similarities to fascism, rather than the EDL.

The people who seem so outraged about the police swearing, I'll guarantee they've never been in a position of dealing with people drunk or generally riled up.
There comes a point where no amount of please thank you or calm talking will make a difference and you've got to get at least verbally aggressive to get people to back down.

Funny you should say that Valentino.

I was seconded down to Bradford with other public order teams from around the country in late August for an EDL rally where the UAF turned up at a counter protest although they were clearly kept seperate.

Myself and a colleague were in full riot gear, minus helmet, and were talking to a group of Asian lads who were good crack. The conversation was about cricket, their lives and experiences in Bradford and import sports cars. Good banter.

Two people from the UAF stepped right between us and handed them leaflets giving them their right and warning them that they would be arrested if they poke to the police.

To their credit, they binned the leaflets and dismissed the attempt to rock the boat. I gave a rolleyes.

I swear that them in hucknall that got robbed by their skaghead neighbours are one of the lads that I work withs missuss family! I really wanna batter the hellbout of that scumbag that they picked up a couple of times.

I think it portrays a custody suite pretty well. The 'poem' at the end is rather sad though.

And here is our 'poet':

The poet is dead now..:(
