Cordless or wireless for gaming?

I, like many others, have been fannying about for over a week now trying to get Crysis graphically set up well. I spent hours changing stuff and would often get a "laggy" or "stuttery" mouse feel.

So, after getting it lookin' sweet, I tried it out with a crappy old PS/2 keyboard and mouse. Couldn't believe the difference I noticed. Whilst it felt horrible, I felt I had much more control and everythting seemed smoother.

This is compared to a pretty expensive "gaming" Bluetooth 2.0 (I know, I know. Also tried out with other wireless and came to same conclusion) kyb & Mouse.

So, do you think it's better to game with wired or wireless gear? If wired, what's the combo to go for?

Thank you.

Hate BT even 2.0, Mobile Phones saved that tech as it was expensive and rarely used for PC.

I have always used Logitech and latest is FAST RF, its as fast as wired in that a PS2 port can only be so fast (better than USB).

I have no lag on KB+Mouse Kit or Gamepad.

Cordless Desktop® MX 3100 Laser

Cordless Rumblepad 2

Think you made a boo boo in your thread title. I couldnt notice any different between a wireless keyboard to a wired one but when it comes to mouse, I definately find wired one has better response, it always feel like the mouse cursor is moving 1 step behind my hand movements with wireless.

The only reason i chose a wired keyboard is because i wanted a g15 and the backlight and LCD screen couldn't be realistically done wireless but i do love my wireless mx1000 mouse, the mouse actually seems much more responsive than my older wired mouse, i really can't fault the newer wireless logitech stuff

Cabled, but only because I kept forgetting to recharge my MX1000. Wasn't the best of times when it conked out in a CoD tourny clan match.:o

Its too sensitive, the pointer probably wont stay still. Usefull for sniper shots I think or maybe its the other way round, less dpi for sniper and high dpi for stupidly accurate fast control of a tank turret (very unrealistic)

Also I think the higher the dpi, the larger the mouse mat you'd need. I have my behemoth of a CRT sitting on a fold up card table :D which leaves little space for a mouse mat so it'd be no good to me

Yes but if you have a high DPI dont you just lower the mouse sensitivity ingame?

MX1000 and S510 have done my pc gaming needs fine for years, no lag either.

Logitech MX1000 or Logitech MX Revolution?

I like with the MX1000 that it has a docking station to keep it charged..

Wired Keyboard and wireless mouse, the wireless mouse allows more freedom to move ect. when the keyboard does not move.

Keyboard - Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000
Mouse - MX700 - has a lot of buttons on the mouse for Teamspeak and such

I have both, MX Revolution seems to lag everytime I download something at full speed (I have 20MB cable) on my wireless line - it seems wireless signals interfere with the signal of the MX Rev ( I had 2 MX Revs both with the same issue) but the MX 1000 is perfectly fine.

Shame as the MX Rev is a much sleeker mouse!
