** CORSAIR FORCE 3 SSDs ** PRE-ORDER NOW!!

Are these backwards compatible with SATA2?

The Agility3 blurb specifically says...

> Interface: SATA-III / 6Gbps (Backwards compatible with SATA-II / 3Gbps)

whilst the Corsair Force3 only says...

> SATA 6Gb/s (SATA 3) connectivity

I'm looking to use this with a Gigabyte EX58-UD5 motherboard, which is only SATA2.

It will be, but you will only get 300MB/s instead of the 600MB/s capable of.

Buy a PCI controller card instead with SATA III support here: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CC-000-AS&tool=3 (I think this card should work on Gigabyte board and ingorne the name Asus board only)

Sorry, should have said that I realise that my SATA2 mobo will hold the drive back but I'd prefer to buy a SATA3 SSD for some future proofing.

The SATA3 card is tempting but I'm already over budget, so that will have to be a future purchase.

The prices are all around the same ballpark.

Were sponsored by both OCZ and Corsair. :)

But OCZ pay you more?

Corsair has by far and away one of the best customer services going and OCZ requires a ship off to germany and a long wait from what i've heard of past experiences.

Include in the fact that the agility 3 has been having loads of DOA and there is no reason not to buy the corsair one.

Is that referring to corsair?

No, it was referring to 99% of things, some people may have had a bad experience with corsair, same as some people might have had a bad experience with OCZ. For example, I've had bad experience with Logitech support before, but that doesn't mean that their service is poor 100% of the time.

Thats pretty obvious. But the fact is that things go wrong far less often for them then other countries so I fail to see why you even brought that up. All you've done is stated the obvious.

For example, with XFX you will be lucky to get an RMA through in under 2 months.

Mine took nearly 6 weeks of faulty OCZ SSD to be replacement. Very poor support from OCZ.
