Yeah, bottom of case got scratched a little during build so hid the scratches with stickers. Actually it was caused by putting in hd bay into the slots in that position on front of the psu. Hardly noticeable. But it's either cover them with stickers or buy a new case I put the 2 SSD's in an Akasa SSD adaptor and 'no more nails' sticky pads to hold it down. Looks pretty decent.
Fan mod is a work in progress. I cut the hole tonight, just need to smooth it a bit. Still waiting on the 250mm white led fan to arrive. Hope to be completed this week. Will post pics when done.
For the 2 stock 200mm fans I use the corsair fan controller built in and will use it with my 250mm fan also.
The 2 fans on the H70 are connected to a PWM splitter cable which is connected to the cpu mobo header and I use the bios to control the fan speed
The akasa viper blowing on the gpu's is connected to a pwm connector on the mobo also. Its speed is controlled based on the temp of the southbridge. Generally stays at 1200-1400rpm and cools the gpu's really well. As the fan is standing free with no obstruction, there is very little turbulence and the silverstone mesh filter on the front is designed to direct airflow straight ahead and reduce the noise signature.
i might try my spare corsair fan in that position on the drivebays as my gpu is getting really hot around 95 degress on full load, and that thats after ive just cleaned it all out and reapplied artic silver......
That window is really really nice mate. I'd try and go for one myself if I got get it done with glass. I always have bad luck with acrylic/perspex and it ends up getting scratched.
Hi Flanno, I am thinking of buying this case. One q. I have the CorsaIR tx850 v2. Did your 8 pin EPS connect fit going from the back or did you need extension cables? Mine is 10mm shoter than yours. Thanks.
