I'm a fan of air cooling and about to buy a new one to replace the Freezer 7 Pro. This Corsair seems like a good buy if I were to go L/C ....it seems too good to be true, is there a catch?

Well it competes with high end air coolers that can be had for a little less money, and some of the pumps reportedly are loud, plus the lifespan is currently unknown. On the upside, the unit itself isn't as large as a big heatsink, but you do have to find somewhere to mount the rad for best effect.

I think your money might be better spent on a high end air cooler at this stage, unless you can get a H50 for cheap.

Hiya mate. There is no catch honest. I went from a freezer 7 pro just like you to a H50 and im loving it. It keeps everything nice and cool. My cpu is overclocked a good chunk and even under load the temps are far better than what I was getting with my freezer which I didnt think was a bad cooler anyway!! This is my first encounter with water cooling and this is just a simple little loop, full water cooling must be excellent. I highly recommend this H50!

I recommend one just for the fact that you dont need to tackle a MASSIVE heatsink and the ram slots are free...

Interesting...*chin scratch*

Ive read they are good for 100,000 hours minimum but I wonder if performance lasts that long!

They do look value for money.....

I would look at getting another/ different pfans for it though. I changed mine to a push pull set up and it made a good few c's difference to the cpu temp and also brought the case temps back down as putting the rad over the rear exhaust seemed to put the case temps up a little.

i was uming and aring over this cooler and i have already got a xspc watercooling kit with a double rad and not a single but im comfident it will be better cooling than my xspc kit (fingers crossed).

i will put my h50 this weekend and will get some temps up after with both the xspc and h50.

Prepare to be dissapointed. I changed from an XSPC kit to a H50 and temps are higher.

this is the kit i have now.

im quite confident it will be on par with it or better.

I have one its not that great tbh. temps are only slightly lower than my Freezer 7 even with dual fans..

You can get a lot better cooler for the money.
