I assume this RAM works will with the Asus motherboard ?

Corsair Memory TWIN2X2048-6400C4 2x1GB 240-Pin DIMM XMS2-6400 CL4

with

Asus P5W DH Deluxe WiFi

And will the RAM become the limiting overclocking factor if I'm using air cooling ?

Be aware of RMA issues if you get some dud sticks.
Maybe worth doing a search on this forum

I'll do some reading in that case...... I've never used Corsair before, are they known for a high rate of bad sticks ?

I have the same sticks and work fine with p5wdh. Never had to RMA a set of corsair so wouldn't know about the rma service but I bought corsair coz I wouldn't have to deal with faults (that I have had with G.Skill)...oh and they clock well (900mhz @ 2.2v)

so on air cooling my limiting factor will be heat, not the RAM or Mobo FSB ?

anything below a 6600 will be mobo FSB limited most likely, then chip limited and heat limited in tandem id imagine
