Got the gigabyte DS3 and Corsair 2gb twinx ddr2 6400 c4.

Either i have something wrong in bios, checked the speeds and latency and all is fine i think

or the ram is messed up as the pc reboots and blue screens every now and then. The cpu via intels tat registers around 48-50 at idle and I logged the temps which are stable - so presuming cpu is fine.

Ran memtest on both twinx modules and i had 5 errors then 2 tested again 2 errors in test 5.

Currently running test on each single module at a time for errors.

Will then possibly trial in other slots currently in 2 and 4 the red slots.

can anyone possibly shed any light on anything i may have done wrong.

One thing i have noticed is the northbridge is very hot to the touch.

the ram is at 2.1v (+0.3v) and the Pc is not currently overclocked.

OK 1 stick passed mem test

2nd stick has failed tests 4 and 6, 3 times in the same single channel slot that the first one passed in.

Presume this 2nd stick must be faulty

Different board but same memory - causing system to "go to sleep"- possibly OCUK have rec'd a faulty batch ?

I originally thought I had a faulty mobo but had the system independantly tested and their conclusion was that I had one faulty RAM stick ( ran ok with one stick).

I have RMA'd and have just been advised that they have returned it for testing by Corsair for repair/ replacement- not happy with first option.
