Hi guys,

I recently purchased Corsair RGB Pro 3600MHz which is currently running at 2667MHz. When ever I try and enable XMP in the bios settings I get a black screen saying the previous overclock settings have failed and have to revert back to XMP disabled running at 2667MHz.

Any help is appreciated. I'm running an MSI Gaming Plus Z490 Mobo and Intel i7 10700k if that helps.

Thanks.

UPDATE: I am able to enable XMP and change the frequency from auto to 3400MHz and boot the PC but anything over 3400MHz causes the PC not to boot. Any ideas?

I'm tempeted to send the RAM back and just get the same in 3200MHz CL16 as at least that is better than the 3400MHz CL18 I am currently getting.

Maybe try a newer BIOS? They can sometimes help with instabilities with RAM, also try XMP profile 2 if not already tried. Profile 1 for me fails to boot, but profile 2 works fine.

Agree with Vader, going by MSI page for your mobo you are on the very first bios version.

Another thing to check is the DRAM volts. Make sure it is changed to 1.35v, or even manualy set it to 1.35v.

edit: I fixed this issue this morning by moving sticks to A2 and B2, as well as manually setting DRAM voltage to 1.30v (it defaulted to 1.20v for some reason, perhaps that is the case for OP too?)

It was probably the voltage more than anything - Your sticks might not have liked it. For example, my 8GB Trident Z RGB 3600MHz CL18 sticks easily run at 1.2V..
