I was just looking at the Corsair website before paying for the Corsair Extreme X32. When I noticed that in the general information section of the 'resources' tab it states that the read and write speeds of the 32GB model are

210 MB/s sequential read
100 MB/s sequential write

not the

240 MB/s sequential read
170 MB/s sequential write

from the overclockers description or from the description on the main page of the corsair site. The write speed especially drops considerably across the range.

Has anyone used one of these? Is the write speed really not 170 MB/s? I was set on getting one of these. :(

The description on the OcUK website advertises the speed as:

- Read: Up to 220MB/sec
- Write: Up to 135MB/sec

Which is the speed of the 64GB version, slightly naughty OcUK or a genuine error?

You'll notice that the Corsair site uses the magical marketing phrase "Up to" when describing the speeds so, I imagine, they can advertise the maximum speed for the quickest drive and apply it to the whole range without being done for false advertising.

oops. You're right.

Still: rant, rant !

Think I will go for the OCZ Vertex Series instead.
