" Almost ready to hit the scores, Corsair's latest memory offer, the first Dominator GT triple channel DDR3 memory kit aims to blow all competition out of the Core i7 waters with its working speed and timings. Set to include three 2GB modules equipped with the updated Dual-path Heat Xchange (DHX) heatsinks that, powered at 1.65V will go all the ay up to 2000 MHz with 7-8-7-20 latencies.

Backed by a lifetime warranty, Corsair's new DDR3 kit is to arrive very soon and will likely cost over 400 Euro. "

looks a bit better than their regular memory which I always think is quite boring - tho I think it would look better in a darker red. Wonder how good it is - I've always rated corsair highly for value RAM but their C4/C5 DDR2 kits I never had a good track record with (ran into a lot of kits that wouldn't run their rated timings - but would run the slower SPD timings fine).

would say well over €400 considering their 1866 6gb kit is £370!
Atm most core i7 systems don't make full use of 1600 ram before they max out so this 2000 kit is proper overkill

Never had any issues with DDR2 C4 on basic (heatspreader stuff) or XMS kits, only really Dominators but prob my crappy 680I and 780I to blame. ;)

Yeah the XMS kits - out of 15-20 builds I've worked on that used them ~7-8 wouldn't run at rated timings regardless of voltage, etc. but were rock solid on the slacker SPD timings... and another 2-3 kits were DOA.

I do like corsairs value RAM tho - very cheap and cheerful and overclocks suprisingly well - for value RAM - used a lot of it in media and office PCs and the likes and never had a single problem.

Not had much hands on with (DDR2) dominators but as they are/were D9GMH based its not suprising if they are problematic... they last about 18 months top on 2.1 volts and about half that on 2.2-2.3.

400 euros, ridiculous price .. RAM prices are meant to be comming down, not going up

I almost spent £600 on 4gig of OCZ Titanium Alpha XTC stuff a few years back - thank goodness it was faulty and I got it refunded... I'd just upgraded from DDR1 where good RAM could significantly increase performance - with DDR2 thats just not the case. RAM prices have crashed a lot recently compared to what they were so I wouldn't be suprised to see them going up again.

Well I guess some people have money to burn... :p ;) Mind you, I thought £80 was a lot when speccing my current rig to 8 Gig...

Suddenly £10 a gig seems like a bargain!

Nice ram but around £360 + vat? to increase gaming performance by lets guess? 2 or 3 fps if your lucky?

Think I'll stick to my expensive DDR2 kit at £80. ;)

I'm sure the rich bench markers will be interested though.
