Cost of sons school uniform

My son 11 starts high school on Monday so today we both went shopping to buy all of his new uniform. I was quite pleased with how much it all cost in the end I thought it was going to be a lot more expensive than it actually was. How does my sons uniform cost compare to others?

£4 plimsolls for school shoes? My pen was worth more than that.

There's nothing like the feeling of sitting down for a lesson knowing you're wearing the best shoes in the whole school. I used to spend 15 minutes meticulously polishing my shoes every morning before leaving for school.

The school recommends them as a cheap alternative to school shoes
