Does the phone have the ability to screen incoming calls to 'allow contacts only'.

I am thinking of getting one, but this feature is an absolute must for me, as I have somebody's recycled number and keep getting calls for them. Probably debt collection agencies. The network only seems to able to the block the witheld numbers and thats no use. It gets rather irritating when it happens 4-5 times a day, even on sundays.

Any help with this appreciated.

Not that I know of.

However, there is 3rd party software to block specific numbers. If you're getting called by the same number repeatedly then it would help.

Handy Blacklist or Best Blacklist are what you're after. Both have a 15 day free trial, so check them out.

Spot on. Exactly what I'm after. Shame I had to pay for it tho. My SE P1i has this as a stanard feature but hey it aint got GPS so its a small trade off:D

What are you talking about:confused:. If you have an N95 classic - you need to upgrade the firmware, if you dont the GPS is carp, if you do it works very well.

i have a classic running the latest firmware, and i still think it's carp

As suggested, get yourself Call Filter and give that a try, it's free if you register at s60.com.

Once registered, go to the 'My S60' page then to the 'My Exclusives' link. You will find a small list of freebies, one of which is Call Filter.

Use the native Google Maps app. Lock to within 1m in 5 seconds. :)

you must have a special phone then because when i was lost in birmingham, it would tell within 1000m, lock on two satellites and that was it.

Ummm GPS with the updated firmware, in google maps is very fast.
Nokia maps 2.0 is still beta and not the best, when configured properly, the phone is the dogs danglies

How much are you guys paying for the GPS usage though?

I'll prob be needing American usage as well you see, so interested (and not surprisingly wouldn't mind it free if poss).

GPS doesn't require any 'data' connectivity. There is a GPS receiver built into the handset which looks at where it is in relation to a bunch of satellites in space. That information is translated to show you where you are in the Maps app or TomTom. There isn't a data connection involved that you get charged for. That's a bit of a crude explanation but I hope you get the idea.

What may cost you is if you haven't loaded maps of your preferred country onto your memcard/phone and the phone tries to download these on the move using a GPRS/3G data connection. Also, your phone may try to fire up a data connection so it can help with triangulation and lock on for the GPS receiver. This is Assisted GPS and can be disabled from the Tools > Settings > General Tab > Positioning > Positioning Methods > untick Assisted GPS.
