Could someone recommend memory for Intel Extreme D975XBX2KR motherboard please ?

Hiya

We are planning to get an Intel Extreme D975XBX2KR motherboard with a Intel Core 2 Quadro Extreme Edition QX6700 Processor. Could someone point me to some specific performance memory (4gb in total) for this combination please ? (we have had problems with compatibility on Intel before and I thought it best to ask the Experts

)

HI there

Adding 4GB tends to kill any potential of high FSB's or decent memory timings.

So 2GB generally is the better option for overall performance especially in games and benchmarking.

However if you really require 4GB as maybe you doing intensive stuff with large images then I believe some of the high-end OCZ kits work well in 4GB configurations.

We basically have a requirement for several of these: some are for video editing which needs large amounts of memory and processing power, some are for data processing where the memory size is not so large but processing power and performance is.

Any idea exactly which models of the memory you recommend are suitable please ?

Im sure two 2Gb kits of PC6400 C4 stuff will do 400mhz. Might need more chipset + mem volts but im sure it will get atleast there
