Morning all,

Im thinking of giving water cooling ago, i have been reading around trying to get an understanding of it all and i think im getting there :)

I decided on the components i fancy going for, i wanna water cool my 5850 as well so would someone be able to give me some advice on what i have chose?

Cpu Block- EK-Supreme HF - Full Nickel CPU Water Block

Gpu block- EK-FC5850 5850 CF - Acetal (not stocked by Ocuk :()

Rad- Black Ice GT Stealth 240 Radiator

Tubing- Masterkleer tubing PVC 3/8" UV-active blue

Im not to sure on a pump & reservoirs so would be grateful for some advice there and if you would advise changing anything i have already chose

Thanks so much

Deffinately change that rad, gts rads are notoriously bad performers. I'd be looking at rads like the xspc rx, thermochill pa/ta or sr1 series. If you can fit a triple in would allow more scope for future upgrades and overclocking but you would still get decent temps with a 240.

As LukasBB says your going to need a res as well and pump/res combos are a nice way to do this and save a bit of space.

Heres some good reading if you have not found these yet.

Trawled the xs forums

and then discovered skinnee and martin, two of the best reviewers of watercooling gear. This is where delta temps and watercooling clicked in my head, the graphs and tables didn't mean much to me at the start now i go straight to them to see how many watts can be disapated at XXXrpm fan speed

My loop consists of similar components (supreme hf, ek fc5870 etc) may be a good read for you as it was my first wc build, linked in sig :)

If you are cooling both CPU and GPU, I would definitely go with what Jeffy and Lukas have suggested. You should definitely get a better performing radiator. Also have you planned out where you are going to be putting everything?

I'm not sure about the Antec 1200 as a case for watercooling in terms of size and space, but you can save yourself a lot of space would definitely by grabbing a good Bayres.

Thanks for the responce guys, i will definatly look into a bigger rad as well as looking into a pump & res combo. Im going to do a bit more reading as well to get a better understanding of it all.

Jinxpad i forgot to update my sig, the case i have now is the NZXT Phantom so im looking into at the mo the best way to fit it all in

I have been doing a lot of thinking and would it be ok to just waterblock my 5850 card?

My CPU is cooled so well by my megahalems cooler with my 2 Xigmatek Black Line 120mm White LED push/pull setup. Its clocked @ 3.7ghz 1.40v and it idles @30c and underload max temp of 42c, i guess it would be silly to change that.

My 5850 is kinda loud when its fan speed hits the 50% mark so just want to know if its worth watercooling just a GPU or if there would be a better option like an after market cooler? im not to hot with these so not to sure what would go with my 5850 etc

hope you can help
