Council elections today. Remember to vote.

Just voted!
My constituency is the home of a world record attempt by the Monster Saving Loony Party.
They have 9 (NINE) candidates standing!!

I was very tempted to vote for the one called "Badger"!

edit: for the record, i didn't vote for a loony!

only 3 choices and 1 of the choices lives 2 streets away and was stood outside with a big grin. seemed like a nice bloke and got my vote. my polling station is a 2 minute walk away, would've been ridiculous to not vote.

I was out in my ASDA van today, and came across Ruth Davidson (Conservative MSP and leader of the party up here) outside the Scottish Conservatives Glasgow HQ (which is just someone's flat). Parked up and went and said hi. She looked visibly nervous as I approached, but shook my hand and wished her all the best. She said turnout is low, but they are hopeful they'll have at least one Conservative councillor. A friendly lass though. However, she was wearing a dodgy grey, pin stripe trouser suit with some horrible brown shoes.

I have never voted in my life.

voting in this country is like deciding which criminals that have you at gun point, gets to own everything you have.

This - and this is exactly the reason I don't vote regardless of whether it's local elections or not. The only thing each of of these tax dodging **** wits are after is lining their own pockets and ******* over everyone else in the process! They'll promise you the Earth for a vote, one of them in my local are is promising things that are clearly way out with their powers to actually provide and they expect me to vote for them! :confused:

And your blind ignorance for me.

Go on, explain how. It would make a welcome change from you just posting tripe with nothing to back it up.

For reference, I know a lot of local councillors personally, so can tell you from first hand experience that the vast majority work very hard, for very little reward. Which isn't really that surprising when there's cretins like you around tarring every single politician all over the country over a few bad experiences you've had at some point.

</rage mode>

Baroness Warsi trying to insinuate that UKIP and the BNP are linking up as regards council candidates. She must be getting very worried for the Tory vote to try something on so sly.

She's hilarious. She's always opening her mouth and saying bizarre things. They are never usually utterly stupid, or damaging (ala Harman/Abott), though.

I think it's disingenuous to suggest she's just a token Muslim though.
