Council Parking Restrictions and Bank Holidays

Hey all,

Whats the score with these? Around Plymouth are billions of 2 hour only/residents parking Monday-Friday zones.

It's a bank holiday. Is it classed as a Sunday?

believe so as buses run on sunday times usually

They are around here yes. For most carparks/parking zones et al, BHM = Sunday.

Around here I believe they count as any other week day. Not sure though.

BHM are council holidays

so parking comes under weekend rules

around here it usually says at the car park , some you do have to pay on bank hols and some you don't

Not in Greenwhich tho..i managed to get a ticket for parking on a single yellow which is OK in Southwark on BHs.

all this makes me think my local council are a bunch of gits. They don't count bank holidays as weekends with the parking restrictions, and seem to activly increase the number of parking wardens patroling - grrr

Around here for council car parks or street parking the signs usually say either including or excluding bank holidays.

To me if it doesn't specify bank holidays, treat a bank holiday like a sunday i.e. use the hours specified for a sunday.
