I have slowly been getting into American country music or the borderline stuff, many the female vocalist, I think I’m a sucker for that southern draw blonde haired singer! :)

Just wondering if anyone else is that way inclined so to speak? Anyone see the Country music awards on late last night? Sheryl Crow performed a duet with a guy at the end of the night which I really enjoyed not sure who he was and what the song was, anyone know?

I love modern country and this last week I've been listening to 3 albums by Dwight Yoakam.
Years ago we used to have the CMT channel on cablevision and it was never off.
I also have a soft spot for Alison Krauss.

I too have recently started to like country, but I think that Alison Krause has got a boring voice. Her cover of "Now that I found you" sends me to sleep.

For fun country music listen to the amazing Jerry Reed.

i'm really into Ryan Adams he did 2 country style albums last year and i guess that got me started with Jonny Cash, just listen to 'The Wreckers' album which is pretty good... gonna give a few artists a blast

You should check out Gram Parsons (if you haven't already), he pretty much defined Adams' style of alt-country. Also Sweetheart of the Rodeo by the Byrds (when Parsons was a member).

I am a big fan of The Be Good Tanyas, who are another alt-country/folk group you may like.

For more purist country stuff check out Keith Urban and Willie Nelson

edit: You might also like to check out Brooks & Dunn who did the original Building Bridges

cheers again Jim

the GP/Grievous Angel double album is his best imo ($1000 wedding, and Love Hurts being the best tracks for my money)

I really like Chris LeDoux and Jerry Reed, as well as some of Garth Brooks' oomphier stuff.

What else should I be listening to?
